Lots to see

Visits can be arranged for community groups out of the normal opening hours.   Whether you are a member of a history society, WI/Townswomen’s Guild/Age Concern, or just a group of friends interested in a particular aspect of local history, do get in touch.  We will do our best to meet your request.

Our members thoroughly enjoyed their visit and have asked me to forward a donation as a token of appreciation.

Children visit the Museum and Curiosity Cottage to learn about how people used to live “in the olden days”, sometimes for school projects.

Thank you for opening the Museum for me, I had a wonderful time! (School child)

Curiosity Cottage in particular has hosted Evacuee Days.  We have a Teachers’ Pack available to be copied and shared.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you.  We particularly enjoyed the bedroom at Curiosity Cottage which showed the difference between modern bedrooms and wartime bedrooms.  The kitchen was outstanding, especially the mangle. Thank you for giving up your time to show us around. (School teacher)

If you are a little older, perhaps you can remember a house with basic amenities such as Curiosity Cottage:

Took me back to my childhood days, thank you.
